General

What is epoxy flooring?

A two-component, resin-based coating applied to concrete or properly prepared floors. It creates a seamless, dust-free surface that is easy to clean. Systems include thin-film paint, textured orange-peel and smooth self-leveling epoxy.

Where is epoxy flooring used?

Warehouses, factories and production areas, car service centres and workshops, car parks, showrooms, shops and commercial spaces are the most common uses. The system is chosen according to how the space is used.

What is the difference between self-leveling epoxy and epoxy floor paint?

Epoxy floor paint is rolled on in thin coats and is an economical way to stop concrete dusting. Self-leveling epoxy is applied thicker and flows out to a smooth, glossy finish. Which one is right depends on how the space is used and what you expect from the floor.

What is marble-effect epoxy and how is it different from real marble?

It is a decorative coating created by hand-working different colours over a self-leveling epoxy base. It gives the look of marble slabs but runs as one piece with no joints. Unlike real marble it is not cut and laid; it is applied over the existing floor.

Can I choose the marble pattern and colours?

Yes. The base colour, vein colours and vein density are decided together, and you can choose from examples of our previous work. Because the pattern is made by hand, every floor is unique and an identical pattern cannot be repeated.

What is flake (chip) epoxy?

A floor system in which coloured decorative flakes are broadcast into a wet epoxy base coat and then sealed with a clear protective topcoat. Its speckled look makes dust and small marks less noticeable. Flake colours and broadcast density are chosen to suit the space.

What is microcement and how is it different from epoxy?

Microcement is a thin, cement-based decorative coating applied by trowel in several coats and finished with a protective sealer. Epoxy is resin-based. Microcement gives a more natural, hand-crafted concrete look; which one suits you depends on how the space is used and the look you want.

Is epoxy paint enough for every floor?

It can be enough for light and medium use. Where heavy loads, forklift traffic, impact or chemical exposure are expected, thicker systems should be considered. We do not make firm recommendations without seeing the floor.

Surface preparation and application

How is the floor prepared before application?

The moisture, soundness and contamination of the floor are assessed. The surface is opened up by grinding or another mechanical method, dust is removed, cracks and voids are repaired and a primer is applied. Surface preparation directly affects how well the coating bonds.

Can epoxy be applied to newly poured concrete straight away?

Usually not. The concrete must reach sufficient dryness and strength first. The waiting time depends on the concrete, its thickness and site conditions. We measure floor moisture before deciding.

Can a new coating be applied over old epoxy or painted floors?

If the existing coating is well bonded, it can be sanded, cleaned and recoated in suitable cases. Blistered, peeling or weak coatings must be removed first. The decision is made after inspecting the floor on site.

When can the floor be used after application?

Waiting times for foot traffic, vehicle traffic and full use differ and depend on the product data sheet and site temperature. We plan the schedule with these times in mind.

Can you apply only lines or markings to an existing floor?

Yes. The surface is prepared according to the floor type (concrete, epoxy, asphalt) and lines, safety stripes, symbols or lettering are applied with a suitable material.

Can charging bay coatings be applied in outdoor car parks?

Yes. Outdoors, materials suitable for sun, rain and temperature changes are used. In indoor car parks, vehicle traffic and cleaning needs come first.

Use and maintenance

Is epoxy flooring slippery?

Smooth, glossy surfaces can become slippery when wet. Where slip resistance is needed, textured finishes such as orange-peel or anti-slip additives are considered. Whether the area will be used wet matters when choosing the system.

How do I maintain an epoxy floor?

Regular sweeping and wet mopping with a neutral cleaner is enough for most spaces. Avoid abrasive and harsh chemical cleaners, and clean up oil and chemical spills promptly.

How long does an epoxy floor last?

Lifespan depends on the system chosen, the quality of surface preparation, the intensity of use and maintenance, so we do not promise a general figure. Choosing the right system for how the space is used is the decision that most affects the life of the coating.

Prices and quotes

What determines the price of epoxy flooring?

The size of the area, the current condition of the floor and the preparation required, the system and number of coats, colour and line marking needs, access to the site and the schedule are the main factors. You can find average price ranges per m² on our price page; for a firm price we need to see the floor or receive photos and measurements.

What information should I share to get a quote?

The approximate size, how the area is used (warehouse, car park, showroom, etc.), the current condition of the floor and, if possible, a few photos are a good start. You can fill in the quote form or send photos on WhatsApp.

Do you inspect the site before the work?

We recommend seeing the floor on site to choose the right system and give a firm price. Contact us about your location and schedule.
